i really enjoy the different textures of this. i also love alley ways and laneways, but that's not entirely because of the city i live in. i've loved alleys in different cities and the one i grudgingly called home for seventeen little years, had some gorgeous little paradises for the dregs. little lost holes of grime and decay and falling apart gutters and breaking down around you walls. look up and up and hope the buildings fall into each other and sandwich you, and swallow you whole for lunch or dinner or the first real break fast in more than a century. hope it rains, hope it pours cement and chipboard and asbestos and carcasses of insects older than your small cache of troubled times, your insignificant little catch of furrowed brows and rivuletting cheeks. don't worry that the right word doesn't exist. i know you can feel it too. you never told me, but i knew.
